With the tools they need to succeed and with a little extra gift that our program provides, we hope to boost the confidence and help children receive essentials and other items that make them feel safe, warm, valued, and ready to learn and succeed.
Children’s Fund History
The Children’s Fund Program, founded in 1973, as a grassroots effort by social workers to assist foster and low-income children in San Mateo County access goods and service that are not available through public funds. Every year over 2,500 children and youth, newborn to age 18, receive resources from our program.
The Children’s Fund relies on the kindness of businesses and individuals to provide for the children of our county. Our programs offer children items such as backpacks filled with school supplies, holiday gifts, and so much more.
What kinds of services does the Children's Fund provide?
The Children's Fund provides goods and services to foster and low-income children, in San Mateo County, that are not available through public funds. Some of our programs are:
