Volunteer Opportunities
We love hosting volunteers of all ages (children 12 and up). The Children’s Fund welcomes individuals, community, or corporate groups. We can host groups of up to 15 people and recommend shifts of 1.5 to 2 hours. Most volunteer events take place at our warehouse at 1 Davis Drive, Belmont, CA 94002.

Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities
July and August—Back to School and School Supply Drive!
Help us sort through donations and fill backpacks full of school supplies to distribute to children in time for the first day of school. We will distribute more than 500 backpacks this year and need your help! Volunteer hours are typically weekdays between 9am and 5pm during the summer months of June and July.
November-December— Holiday Gift Program!
We receive more than 1,800 toy and gift donations each holiday season and need your help inventorying them and packaging them for the children! To package the gifts, you’ll get a child’s three wishes and “shop” through our shelves to find a gift for them. Holiday Central is open Monday through Saturdays in November and December and we would love your help! This volunteer opportunity will truly put many smiles on children’s faces.
Host a Collection Drive!
Collect new filled backpacks, toys, and gifts with your friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, church/synagogue, or girl scout troop. We’ll provide materials and instructions on how to host a successful collection drive. Please note: The Children's Fund collects backpacks during the months of May-July and toys during the months of November-December.
